Wet but good

Sunset in March during flooding

Wet but good

After almost months of no rain and hardly any grass growth, we finally have some rain. Some. I guess it may be classified as another 1:50 years storm of which we should be prepared to have more, more often.

The gutters did overflow, so did the water tank. The surface drainage systems and pipes could not cope anymore either.  Luckily not too much of a problem when you are living on a hill. Impressive never the less.

On the bright side, you can watch and see what’s the issues are and take photographs and ponder about it and make plans as what could be done about it.

So we discovered that the fence who installed new fence lines just a few weeks ago miraculously missed the trough water line but exactly hit the storm water line running into the pond with a main gate post. Well, stuff happens so we put it on the to-do list for next time when we will have an excavator around. The amount of water coming out of a 100mm dia pipe running down a hill is quite impressive. 🙂

At least the tank is full and the soil saturated. Bring on another month of summer.
