Spring is in the air. The weather is getting warmer, so I did my walk down into the valley to check the water supply to the troughs, checked all fences and gates....

The storm that hit us last Tuesday evening with wind speeds of more than 200km/h (Manukau Heads) left us without power and internet and only limited cell phone coverage. Power was restored yesterday afternoon, 3 days later....

A walk down the hill and saying hello to all the animals can be a really healthy exercise and you can discover the odd cool things when you look at details: fence wire knots...

the amount of rain we had over the last few days is extraordinary - at least on a subjective level. The occasional hours of sunshine in between evaporate the water quickly, hence yesterday we had 30 deg C. with 80% relative humidity....

Tatjana took a lovely picture this morning and it's too cool not to share it. Makes you appreciate nature and our lovely spot again. And another example that mornings can be very special and energizing, even though Tatjana would not agree on that one. PS: Only after 10am.

After a long time of thinking, designing and making I've finally finished and installed our new Pukeatua letterbox...

I have been listening to that cow in distress now since yesterday afternoon, all night through and had a walk down the valley this morning to make sure it wasn't ours....
